Jack Thompson Trial Update …and Tivo Alert

We’ve heard very little news from this week’s Florida Bar disciplinary trial of anti-game activist Jack Thompson.
Here’s what we know:
As expected, the case, which began on Monday, continued all week long. We spoke to a staffer in the court of Judge Dava Tunis this morning who told us the Thompson trial was reconvening at 11AM today, Miami time.
Earlier this week Thompson filed a motion with the U.S. District Court to vacate the Bar case. Judge Adalberto Jordan rejected Thompson’s motion yesterday, thus allowing the case to continue.
Thompson himself has sent very little GP’s way this week. Although he e-mailed this cryptic message on Wednesday morning, we received no follow-up, despite a couple of requests:
Florida Bar Disbarment Trial of Anti-Violent Video Game Activist Heats Up… Things took quite a turn against the video game industry at Miami attorney Jack Thompson’s lawyer “disciplinary” trial yesterday [Tuesday]. Wonderful details will be disclosed publicly shortly.
I’m still awaiting those “wonderful details.” Although my gut tells me that if Thompson had something to brag about, he wouldn’t keep it to himself, it’s probably best not to indulge in too much speculation at this point.
Regarding the Tivo Alert, we’ve learned that Thompson will appear on Spike TV’s GameHead program tonight at 1AM Eastern Time. Show host Geoff Keighley was at VGXPO a few weeks back and apparently caught up to Thompson there.
Keighley will also have an interview with Spencer Halpin about his Moral Kombat movie.
